Overview

The Transfer Student Seminar is a continued orientation to the college. The purpose is to assist new students in making a successful academic transition to the SHC. The seminar will introduce the characteristics of Jesuit Education with an emphasis on academic  excellence, leadership, service to others and affirmation of diversity. In a supportive small group, the instructor and the peer seminar leader interact to deliver information and suggest strategies for student success.  In collaboration with the Student Life Division of the college, the seminar provides the venues for several small group presentations pertinent to students' social adjustment to the college.
