TRANSFERRING COURSEWORK FROM OTHER COLLEGES

For special reasons a student enrolled in a degree program at Spring Hill College may be permitted to do a limited part of his/her study at another institution. Students entering Spring Hill College without transfer credit may take with proper permission a total of up to 12 semester hours of credit at other institutions after matriculating. Study-abroad enrollment and special approved programs such as the Washington Semester are not subject to this limitation. Students transferring in less than 30 hours are limited to nine hours of transfer credit after matriculation; those transferring between 30 and 60 hours may transfer six hours after matriculation; and those transferring over 60 hours must complete the remainder of their program at Spring Hill.

To take classes at another institution a student must first complete a transient study form, have it signed by their adviser, and return the form to the Academic Affairs office on the second floor of the Administration Building. The courses taken at another institution must be the equivalent, in the judgment of College officials, of courses offered at Spring Hill. A grade of less than C- for course work at other institutions will not be accepted by Spring Hill College and grades earned at other institutions do not affect the student's Spring Hill College grade point average.

After completing courses at another institution it is the student's responsibility to have an official transcript sent to the Registrar's Office. Credits will not appear on the student's transcript until all forms are complete and on file at the Registrar's Office.
