Directed students in SHC reading class in evaluating the reading levels and skills of fourth-grade students at Mary B. Austin Elementary School
Developed new course EDU 450 Strategies and Resources for Teaching in Secondary and Middle Schools
Revised EDU 373 Teaching Social Studies/EDU 580 The Contemporary Social Studies Program to increase the amount of technology taught to students and to increase their use of technology in developing their major project for these courses; students used internet resources, PowerPoint, Encarta, Publisher, Intel Teach to the Future Program, and other computer applications
Revised EDU 328 Diagnosis and Adjustment of Reading Instruction/EDU 577 Assessment and Reading Instruction: used different approaches to teaching strategies for correcting reading problems; implemented plan to focus on teaching a few strategies in depth instead of teaching a large number of strategies
