Updated CIS 381 Information Systems (had not taught this course since Fall 2000): Used collaborative learning techniques including group discussions; provided real-life scenarios as examples of applications of information systems;  incorporated video clips corresponding to each chapter

Selected as Chairman of the Board of the Principals' Academy: this group, supported by the Sybil H. Smith Charitable Trust, provides training and leadership opportunities for principals and vice principals in the Mobile area and surrounding counties

Completed revision of the SHC-prepared exit examination that is given to undergraduate students who fail to achieve the 25th percentile on the ETS (Educational Testing Service ) national examination: added new sections on computer information systems and international business, checked and updated all existing sections 

Extensive revision of MGT 301 Management Principles (had not taught course in five years): emphasized issues of "justice and the common good"; used oral presentations and team case analysis

Significant revision of MGT 351 Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management: Used new text and new simulation called CAPSIM (Capstone Foundation Business Simulation); new simulation required extensive work preparing for its use, teaching students the procedures, and administering the simulation; emphasized issues of "justice and the common good"

Revision of BUS 599 Business Strategy and Policy: Utilized new cases; incorporated a significant amount of information concerning "justice and the common good"

Used ERes in all classes:  posted student information, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, study and review questions, and other information

Worked with Dr. Carol Harrison and Dr. Ralph Sandler on the development of a concept for a new Master of Science degree in Health Care Leadership

Updated ECO 101 Principles of Macroeconomics and ECO 102 Principles of Microeconomics: Developed new notes from the text, added "current topics" paper that required students to track an economic topic as it appeared in various forms of print media, assigned book entitled The Economics of Public issues and required students to evaluate readings from this book on topics like the economics of illegal drugs, the slave trade in the Sudan, property rights and forests, and free trade and protectionism

Modified FIN 401 Advanced Financial Analysis to better prepare students for the BUS 499 Business Strategy and Policy simulation

Improved BUS 560 Management of Financial Resources: gave students the opportunity to reflect on some of the ethical and corporate cultural issues within the financial services industry after reading Liar's Poker and watching the film Boiler Room, expanded several projects, and added coverage of a financial forecasting chapter

Added new material to BUS 550 Managerial Economics and FIN 435 International Finance

Wrote proposal to significantly change the international business concentration and also proposed a new minor in finance

Chaired a committee to review and strengthen BUS 210 Business Communication; revised class to include more oral communications, practice job interviews, and ethical and corporate cultural issues

Worked with Dr. Carol Harrison and Dr. Stu Langdon to evaluate the feasibility of offering a graduate degree in health leadership;  although a graduate program in  health leadership has not yet been approved, a graduate certificate in Human Resource Management did result from the process
