Abstract, "Meeting Nursing Student Needs Through a Hybrid/Blended Approach," accepted (with co-author Theresa Crider) for presentation at the 14th International Conference on College Teaching and Learning, Jacksonville, Florida;  was unable to attend due to financial constraints but assisted Theresa Crider in putting together the presentation she delivered for both of us at the conference;  this abstract was also accepted for poster presentation at the Alabama League of Nursing Annual Meeting in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, but I was unable to attend due to a lack of funding

Reviewed three manuscripts for the American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA) Nephrology Journal (refereed)

Worked with Dr. Mike Johnson to develop and establish a college Institutional Review Board to review research proposals involving human participants;  subsequently asked to be a member of this board

Assisted nursing students in:

Used Teagle Summer Curriculum grant to develop GNT 200 Health and Aging as a Lifelong Learning in-class course;  will now develop the course as a hybrid/blended in-class/online course

Updated NUR 310 Community Mental Health, NUR 420 Community as Client, and NUR 201 Normal and Therapeutic Nutrition:  added new test questions focusing on NCLEX-style questioning; removed some material, added new material, and changed focus in some areas; added/changed agencies for clinicals; updated courses on ERes

Offered NUR 210 Normal and Therapeutic Nutrition during summer as a hybrid in-class/online course incorporating interactive on-line activities, PowerPoint and audio-enhanced presentations on CD-ROMS, ERes discussion board, and in-class faculty/student-led presentations

Collaborated with community clinical facilities to set up students' clinical experiences in NUR 420 Community Mental Health and NUR 310 Community as Client

Facilitated update of nursing alumni files:  assisted with development of nursing alumni and employer survey (distributed Summer 2002) and also distributed employer survey to the Nursing Advisory Board in Spring 2003

Assisted with preparation of the CCNE accreditation report
