Served as SHC liaison for the Validation Studies Project of the Alabama Prospective Teacher Test;  participated in the Alabama Curriculum Alignment Study and the Writing Skills Evaluation for the Alabama Prospective Teacher Test;  served as college coordinator for field testing of the Alabama Prospective Teacher Test

Served as Alabama State Liaison for the Association of Independent Liberal Arts Colleges for Teacher Education

Developed SHC's Title II Report required by the Alabama State Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Education

Chaired committee, directed preparations for, and managed activities surrounding the Alabama State Department of Education's Five-Year Self Study and On-site Review of SHC's teacher education program

Completed plan and report for the Alabama State Department of Education on how SHC's Teacher Education Division will address the new technology knowledge and abilities

Worked with the chairs of the Mathematics Department, Social Sciences Division, and Languages and Literature Division to develop programs that will enable secondary education majors to meet the Highly Qualified Teacher requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act;  also kept Teacher Education Division faculty, staff, and students informed on the changing requirements of the Highly Qualified Teacher provisions 

Participated in interview training process in four Mobile County schools

Directed students in SHC reading class in evaluating the reading levels and skills of fourth-grade students at Mary B. Austin Elementary School

Revised EDU 373 Teaching Social Studies/EDU 580 The Contemporary Social Studies Program:  incorporated more U.S. history to strengthen students' ability to teach this subject in elementary school grades

Revised EDU 328 Diagnosis and Adjustment of Reading Instruction/EDU 577 Assessment and Reading Instruction:  used different approaches to teaching strategies for correcting reading problems; focused on teaching a few strategies in depth instead of teaching a large number of strategies 

Enhanced internship courses:  videotaped the interns while they were teaching, gave them copies of their own tapes, and asked them to critique themselves
