Essay on Evagrius Ponticus: Preparing paper on Evagrius Ponticus' Gnostikos (originally delivered at the annual conference of the North American Patristic Society) to send for publication, probably to Theological Studies; includes the first English translation of the text from Greek and Syriac as well as a 20-page commentary
Encyclopedia articles: Received a request from the editors of the Westminster Dictionary of Historical Theology to write a series of brief encyclopedia articles: "Antony," "Serapion of Thmuis," "Evagrius of Pontus," "John Cassian," and "Monasticism, Egypt, and Palestine"
Bibliographic editor/translator for Hubertus Drobner's Lehrbuch der Patrologie (Herder, 1996): Completed a draft of the English translation from the German of the bibliographic entries in fall 2000 but will have to do some updating since several new works have come out since then; book should be published by Hendrickson in late 2002 or early 2003, depending on when the translator of the main text completes his work
Research on the Dolbeau Sermons (a set of 30 newly discovered sermons of Augustine published by François Dolbeau in 1996 and translated into English by Edmund Hill in 1998). Have researched these sermons and collected material for at least one and possibly two future essays: the first will focus on Augustine’s catechumenate in light of the new Dolbeau sermons and is tentatively entitled "The Voice and the Word: Augustine's Catechumenate in the Light of the Newly Discovered Dolbeau Sermons"; a second may focus on Augustine’s use of the Christus medicus figure in the Dolbeau sermons. Plan to deliver the first essay at the 14th International Conference on Patristic Studies (August 2003) and the second at the North American Patristic Conference (May 2004)
