Invited to give two lectures to Odyssey, a teach-in to community retirees organized and managed by the University of South Alabama faculty;  will give two one-hour presentations and discussions in June 2002 on the possibility of cognitive function of extended discourse (metaphors and other figures) in theorizing, especially in theology

Asked by Magdala Thompson, RSM, of Quest to introduce Elizabeth Lineham, RSM, who will talk on June 11 on social justice (restorative versus retributive punishment), and to respond to/help manage the discussion

Invited to attend the 14th International Conference on Patristic Studies in Oxford, England, in August 2003;  will deliver a paper entitled "The Voice and the Word:  Augustine's Catechumenate in the Light of the Newly Discovered Dolbeau Sermons"

Revised the undergraduate Vatican II course for graduate level:  Developed a new set of lectures ("The Theology and Ecclesiology of Yves Congar," "Veritatis Splendor: The Moral Theology of John Paul II," and "The Development of Papal Social Teaching") and revised others ("The Christology of Jon Sobrino," "Lumen Gentium," and "The Theology of John Paul  II") because of new research in the field
