-Participated in the Alabama Curriculum Alignment Study and the Core Skills Evaluation for the Alabama Prospective Teacher Test
-Participated in meeting of Mobile area deans of education called by the superintendent of the Mobile County Public School System to explore ways to improve teaching in the county's secondary schools
-Coordinated a field experience for 23 elementary and middle school teachers
-Participated in interview training process in two Mobile County schools

Judged Reflections Literature Contest at Dodge Elementary School

Directed students in SHC reading class in evaluating the reading levels and skills of fourth graders at E.R. Dickson Elementary School

-Revised  EDU 373 Teaching Social Studies/EDU 580 The Contemporary Social Studies Program:  incorporated materials and resources from trip to Egypt and added an ERes site
-Revised EDU 328 Diagnosis and Adjustment of Reading Instruction/EDU 577 Assessment and Reading Instruction in response to a problem observed in a student intern's class in Fall 2001; changed to new textbook and emphasized how teachers could correct reading problems once they are identified
